Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Selah does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and the app itself never connects to the internet.
What Selah stores, and where
Selah keeps a small amount of information only on your Mac, inside the app’s own sandbox container. None of it is sent anywhere, and the developer cannot see it.
- Your settings: prayer interval, nudge lead time, snooze limit, active hours, whether to show a verse, chime, menu bar icon, display and idle style choices.
- Your rhythm: the time you last prayed (the moment you tapped Amen) and the snooze count for the current window.
- Your history: for each calendar day, how many times you tapped Amen. This is what the streak and the History screen are built from.
- App state: which verses have already been shown (so they don’t repeat until all have appeared), whether the welcome window has been shown, and whether you have made a choice about opening Selah at login.
- System log: Selah writes a couple of diagnostic lines (for example that a chime played) to your Mac’s own system log. They stay on your Mac and contain no personal information.
Deleting Selah removes the app. To also remove this data, delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.blaisebagabo.selah.
What Selah does not do
- It does not use the network. The app has no network entitlement and makes no connections.
- It does not read your files, contacts, calendar, location, camera, microphone, or screen contents, and it does not read what other apps are doing. The one exception is the optional Active display setting: to put the island on the screen you are working on, Selah asks macOS for the on-screen position and size of the frontmost app’s window. It never reads window titles, contents or screenshots, uses it only to pick a display, and stores nothing.
- It does not use third-party SDKs, analytics, crash reporters, or advertising.
- It does not fetch Bible text from a server: the verses are bundled inside the app.
Permissions
Selah asks for none. The right-click menu on the island uses a standard system event observer that reports nothing beyond the position of a right-click and needs no special permission. “Open Selah at login” uses the system’s login item setting, which you can change any time in System Settings → General → Login Items.
Feedback and the waitlist
Selah itself makes no network connections. Two optional links hand off to your browser, only when you click them:
- Send Feedback (in Selah’s menu and Settings) opens a Google Form in your default browser. What you type there is sent to the developer through Google Forms, and Google’s privacy policy applies to the form. Selah adds nothing to it: it does not attach your settings, your history or any identifier. An email address is optional and is used only to reply to you.
- Join the waitlist (on this website) opens a Google Form that asks for your email address. It is used only to tell you when Selah is available on the Mac App Store, and you can ask us to remove it at any time at the address below.
This website
This site has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Like any web server, the one hosting it may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting. They are not used to identify or track visitors.
Children
Selah collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address and the date above updated. Because Selah collects nothing, a change would not affect data you have already given us: there is none.
